Faith Under Fire

Antoinette Tuff is a bookkeeper at the McNair Learning Academy in Atlanta, and one day she gets an unwanted visitor to the front office: Michael Brandon Hill, a mentally disturbed young man with an AK-47 and a paranoid conviction that he's going to kill all the cops he can or die trying. Leaning upon her own faith in God's plan and upon her own unhappy familiarity with despair, she manages to convince the almost-unreachable Michael that today is just another chapter in his life, not necessarily his last day on Earth.
